When you look at a famous person who has achieved success it is hard to think they struggled along the way, and they achieved their successful job as an actor or a singer with no hurdles.

Many successful people do not begin their careers in the profession in which they end up. Some of the world’s most influential individuals have shown, you do not have to have it worked out right away. Many extremely influential individuals, some even many years into their adult lives, have made big career changes. Many by well know people who you may not have known, who started their early careers as something completely different.

Popular career transitions encourage people, but they are frightened by the idea when it comes to themselves. Particularly when it comes to changing professions. There’s the risk of failure, as well as the mystery of what’s to come. One primary reason is their fear of stepping outside of their comfort zones. It’s not an easy choice to make, but if your gut tells you the taking that risk is the right option, go for it.

Switching professions is never accessible — why gamble your life on a different path that could not work out? Even the most self-assured individual will be terrified by questions about whether or not they’re on the “right” career path.

Between 2000 and 2018 the number of people changing jobs has been, on average, 9.1% compared with 90.9% of people remaining in their jobs a study by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed.

Before moving professions, certain individuals spent years, if not decades, in entirely different fields. Others formed their interests over time, whilst others had already developed them outside of their careers before changing their full attention. But they all took chances and tried new challenges at some stage, and they all brought talents and lessons from one career to the next.
